The overall market can be segmented geographically based on the regions of the world namely, North America (comprising of USA and Canada), Europe, APAC, Latin America, Middle East and Africa. North America occupies more than 30% of the overall market share. Additionally, U.S.A occupies the largest market share in the segment, with market leaders like Honeywell International, Inc. and Emerson Company operating in it. Rapid process automation and large investments in the Oil and Gas vertical will drive growth in the market for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) technology. Next in line is Europe with countries like Germany, France and U.K leading. ABB Ltd., a Switzerland based firm, is a major player in the segment.

Rapid and continuous industrial developments in Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Middle East, indicates that the region will see rapid growth over the next few years. However, the regions of Africa are lagging behind tremendously in the domain of high-tech computing and will still require some more time before the technical infrastructure can be laid adequately in the country.
